There are many elements of a wedding day that make me excited to start editing and re-living the day again. It might be the decor, it might be the dancing, or, in the case of Emma and Philip’s super fun Gate Street Barn wedding, it might be the brilliant array of expressions on their faces throughout the day. We had pure joy, childish glee, happy tears, cheeky raspberry blowing and blue steel on the dance floor. Just check out the confetti sequence – it makes me grin from ear to ear every time I look at it!

The speeches at this wedding were just brilliant. I always love hearing stories about my couples told by people that know and love them best, and Emma’s mum and Philip’s best man didn’t disappoint. They had everyone in stitches. Tip for the top – introduce an element of competition! In a genius move, Emma’s mum brought out some coloured ping pong paddles for a game pitting husband against wife, and the will to win was fierce (and hilarious) on both sides!

A Joyful and Fun Gate Street Barn Wedding

I have to give a shout out to Emma’s lovely bridesmaids too. Their love for her was so clear to see, from their emotion during the ceremony (synchronised eye wiping, anyone?) to their presentation of a pretty epic rice crispie cake to the bride during the speeches. Emma’s face here is one to treasure. So. Much. Joy!

The laughter kept flowing as I took Emma and Philip off for their couple’s shoot in the sunshine. There was a perfect blend of adoration and face-pulling that made for some of my favourite shots of the day. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a giant raspberry!

There were so many lovely decor touches at this wedding, from the hanging foliage chandelier in the ceremony room, to the quirky woodland cake made by Emma’s mum, to the fire pit and marshmallows outside once the sun had set. I really struggled when selecting this highlights gallery – there were loads I wanted to include!

Have a look through a small selection of Emma and Philip’s fun and joyful big day below, and if you like what you see, why not get in touch for a chat. I can’t wait to hear all about your wedding plans.
