Now, I’ll be honest with you – hotel weddings can sometimes be a little bland. They can occasionally be the province of less-than-creative decor, and (*whispers*) lycra chair covers, which are AAAawesome if you’re planning a lycra wedding, but otherwise a bit meh. However, discovering The Bingham – an intimate boutique hotel right on the river in Richmond – was a breath of fresh air, and Rebecca and Andy’s chic Bingham Hotel wedding was so much fun.
Rebecca looked stunning in her Jesus Piero gown. There was definitely a ‘wow I’m a BRIDE’ moment, from the second she put it on. The happy tears flowed straight away, and didn’t stop until after the ceremony. Everyone was at it – mum, dad, the bride, bridesmaids, witnesses – all blubbering away. It is so sweet when everyone wears their hearts on their sleeves, and get so emotional when their loved ones get married. I love a good cry!
The autumnal weather threw a bit of a spanner in the works, and our portrait session was cut short by a downpour. Thankfully the clouds cleared later, and gave us the most incredible, fiery sunset. How nice is the image of Rebecca and Andy snuggling at sunset in front of the Bingham’s high windows?
Rebecca created a proper statement centrepiece for their reception table, which was perfect for this chic Bingham Hotel wedding. She brought in mirrors and about 300 candles to run down the middle of the table. This made for a really warm and twinkly but minimalist and modern design.
And this is where they had their meal – in a really convivial, lively and intimate atmosphere. The buzz of conversation and laughter was brilliant, and so were the speeches, which had everyone in stitches.
They cut their cake (big thumbs up on choosing a Cheese cake as well as a sweet one. Yes, guys!), and rang in the boogie. And my goodness this was a cracker of a party! Rebecca’s dress made for some ace twirling and swirling shots, and I loved seeing all the guests throwing their best shapes on the dance floor.
If you’re planning a hotel wedding with a difference, you know who to call for your photographs!
