If you’ve seen a few of my blog posts, you’ll know that a good confetti flinging is one of my absolute favourite things to photograph. And, haha, Elizabeth and Daniel’s is going to take some beating! This adorable couple walked out of their red London bus and into their Colourful West Reservoir Centre Wedding in a veritable blizzard of red and yellow petals. If you’re having to pick clumps of blossom out of your champagne glass, you’re doing something right!
I loved everything about this wedding. It was fabulously London, without feeling too city slick. The styling at the West Reservoir centre was an explosion of colour, and watching Elizabeth and Daniel together made me grin from ear to ear all day long. They barely let go of each other’s hands all day, and were just bubbling over with happiness, which I think you can see a mile away from the pictures.
Drinks and Routemasters
The couple got ready separately at home with their families, before making their way to the Catholic Church of Mary Immaculate and St Gregory. Elizabeth chose a black cab as her wedding car – a touch that’s very true to London in any book. The church looked amazing decked out in bright flowers. It was a wonderfully heartfelt and emotional ceremony, with some brilliant belting out of hymns (love it when a crowd is in fine voice.) After the ceremony, everyone moved to the pub round the corner while they waited for their transport to take them to the reception at the West Reservoir centre. Said transport was… you’ve guessed it…a classic red routemaster bus. Very fun.
The West Reservoir Centre looked fabulous. So much colour and personality, and I loved the added sparkle from the festoon fairy lights. After THE confetti line, I took Elizabeth and Daniel off for a super short portrait session around the edge of the reservoir, where they proceeded to grin and giggle in the most beautifully photogenic way. Plus there were boats to mess about in, which made it all the more fun!
A Ceilidh Party
Elizabeth and Daniel scrapped the traditional first dance after their speeches, and instead chose to go straight in for the boisterous action of a Ceilidh. Their guests rose to the challenge, and were soon leaping and spinning on the dance floor under those twinkling lights. A fittingly fun end to a gorgeous day.
Feast your eyes on the highlights gallery below (it’s a big one this time – too much loveliness to choose from!) If you like what you see, say hello, and let’s have a chat about those wedding plans of yours.
