There are some days when everything just goes right, and Emma and Paul’s gorgeous Shendish Manor wedding was one of ’em. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky; the gardens of Shendish Manor were filled with laughter and sunshine; there was a clutch of absolutely adorable kids present, and Emma was wearing the most PERFECT shade of red lipstick. So Marilyn Monroe. And there was lots and lots of love. All the ingredients for an epic wedding day!

Emma and Paul made this beautiful Hertfordshire manor house their home for the duration of their wedding and got ready there. The morning of a wedding is always a really special time. It can sometimes be overlooked when it comes to the photographs. My advice to all my brides and grooms is: don’t rush it. Yes, you’ll wake up that morning feeling like all your Christmases, birthdays and other butterfly-worthy events have come at once. Yes, you’ll want to race to the bit where you’re approaching the end of the aisle and actually GETTING MARRIED. But believe me, the day will move past at some kind of weird wedding warp speed (I swear wedding days exist in their own, extra fast timezone). So treasure the little moments too – starting with getting ready surrounded by your best mates.

Now, I love wedding dresses of all shapes, sizes and colours – but there’s something about a classic A line gown and the elegant sweep of a staircase that ticks many many boxes for me. Emma channelled all kinds of old Hollywood glamour at her Shendish Manor wedding, and I loved every minute of it.

After a beautifully emotional ceremony, things moved outside onto the lawn. For once there wasn’t even the slightest threat of rain, and everyone enjoyed the warm afternoon sunshine. The day moved quickly from there and before we knew it, everyone had hit the dance floor and was having a total blast! It was truly a fun and fabulous Hollywood glamour wedding day.

If you’re looking for fun, natural wedding photography with a big shot of personality, you’ve come to the right place. Fancy a chat? I’d love to hear about your wedding plans.
