A Stylish Same-Sex Summer Elopement In Copenhagen

Drew and Tom’s elopement in Copenhagen was a really special one for me. There’s always something a little bit magical about an elopement for a photographer. You are the only person sharing in this couple’s wedding day. Whether or not there’s a party back at home later (and for Drew and Tom, there was a fabulous one) – you’re the one hearing their wedding vows, the only other person seeing them in their first precious few hours as a married couple.

It’s an enormous honour to be asked to document an elopement, and it’s a great adventure too, with tons of time to take photos that really make you happy. Exciting!

Drew contacted me through Instagram (hop on over and give me a follow if you don’t already – you’ll see sneak peeks and some of my absolute favourite shots). He asked if I’d be interested in joining him and Tom to shoot their stylish summer elopement in Copenhagen. Needless to say, he didn’t have to ask twice!

A Day in Copenhagen

I used to live in Copenhagen. It’s a city that is still really close to my heart. There’s a reason Denmark is consistently voted the happiest place in the world to live. So, to have the chance to shoot a gorgeous and stylish same-sex summer elopement in Copenhagen and spend a little bit of time in one of my favourite cities was really great.

It was a flyer of a visit – I touched down in the morning, met the guys at their hotel, did a couple’s shoot in the park, headed to their ceremony and then on to a modern restaurant for lunch (where the light flooding in through the huge windows is just looooooovely!), then bid them farewell and headed back to the airport. I was home before the sun went down and buzzing from a great day with these two lovelies.

It was a busy day, full of style, smiles, emotions and champagne and what a fab day it was! I really love these images.
