A Somerset Wells Private Farm Marquee Wedding in Wells and Pitt’s Farm
A few short weeks ago I had a very lovely day capturing Gemma and Matt’s gorgeous Somerset Wells Private Farm Marquee Wedding in Wells and later at Gemma’s family home at Pitt’s Farm. After their Bowood House engagement photo shoot, I was really looking forward to their big day and so I was very excited to join Gemma and her family in the morning.
With glorious views over Glastonbury Tor, Wells and the beautiful Somerset countryside this Private Farm Marquee Wedding was a stunner with a twist.
Gemma and Matt had arranged for vintage cars to pick them up and take them, their bridesmaids, ushers and parents to St. Thomas’ Church in Wells, Gemma’s family church since childhood. You can just tell how much the minister enjoyed performing the wedding ceremony for Gemma and Matt and how much it meant to them that their wedding was held there.
After their emotional ceremony we headed down to the centre of Wells, the very impressive Wells Cathedral and the surrounding area for their couple shots and then joined their wedding party back at their Private Farm Marquee Wedding at Pitt’s Farm just outside Well in Somerset. The rain clouds pulled in but rained themselves out just in time during the speeches, leaving everyone to enjoy the farm, the fab open private farm wedding marquee, the games and bar either side of the downpour.
After their speeches filled with lots of fun and laughs, and with the onset of evening, Gemma and Matt cut their cake and started the party with their first dance, set to the music of the Harlem Rhythm Cats. They also unveiled their spit roast cow – definitely a first for me, but what an impressive sight at this Somerset Wells Private Farm Marquee Wedding – and lit little barbecues for roasted marshmallows and chats around the fire. Yumm!
What a brilliant Somerset Wells Private Farm Marquee Wedding! Filled with so many personal touches and with that view, it’s definitely one of my favourites. And let’s not forget the awesome WWII bunker that we used for some creative evening shots. Check it out!
