This lovely wedding was a day of two halves. Super-stylish couple Marco and Ilaria started their day with an elegant Hampstead Heath Pergola wedding ceremony, before moving on to the Hospital Club for some serious partying.

The Pergola on the Heath is a venue that sends little shivers up my spine, and it is bloody amazing! There’s something really special and slightly mysterious about this hidden oasis of green in the middle of the city. Even on a grey day The Pergola is a completely beautiful, calming space, that really suited Ilaria and Marco’s style.

Talking of style, just feast your eyes on Ilaria’s gorgeous bridal look. I love the simple elegance of her dress. Dior and Georgio Armani? Yes please! What a partnership!

I’m so pleased Marco got in touch with me to shoot their big day. He’d spotted these gorgeous engagement photos I’d taken at the Pergola, and liked them so much that they booked me immediately. Queue much happy whoops from me!

Goes to show the power of social media – and here comes a top tip: If you’re planning your wedding and feeling a bit stuck finding the perfect suppliers to bring what’s in your head to life, get yourself on Instagram! You’ll find tons of inspiration and lots more images than you might see on the suppliers’ official websites and portfolios. You are sure to get a more rounded picture of what they can do, and if they’re the right fit for you.

An elegant Italian wedding with style

OK, back to Marco and Ilaria’s elegant Italian pretty-fest of a wedding day! After the ceremony we made a short pit-stop to make sure their beautiful golden Lab was all good and then moved things over to the Hospital Club in Covent Garden in a red double-decker London Bus. This urban venue just oozes style, and the couple added loads of fun touches to keep the party going all night long. Table football, ping pong and amazing tunes that ensured the dance floor was always jam packed. Such a fun day.

I left with aching feet, ringing ears, properly renewed table tennis skillz and a massive smile on my face.

If you’d like to go and explore the Pergola or The Hospital Club together, you are planning your Italian wedding, or you just want to have a chat about your wedding photography, say hello! I can’t wait to hear from you…
