Birtsmorton Court Navy Blue Wedding – A Wedding Photographer’s Dream
When Laura, Phil and I met up for their Waddesdon Manor pre-wedding photo shoot and they told me all the final details of their Birtsmorton Court Navy Blue Wedding day I knew it was going to be something special. From the venue Birtsmorton Court with its stunning grounds, topiary maze in the White Garden, and moated stately home; to the lawn games, the beautiful details they had planned and not to forget Laura’s blue wedding dress – it all spoke to the Creative Wedding Photographer in me.
I was a teensy bit excited to say the least.
When their big Birtsmorton Court Navy Blue Wedding day finally rolled around, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.
A summer wedding at Birtsmorton Court
Birtsmorton Court, which was mostly built in the 13th and 15th centuries, is surprisingly rustic and soft at the same time. The medieval stonework, moat and paths are offset by luscious and feminine Louis XIV furnishings, pastel colours and of course the beautiful gardens. A heavy wooden gate leads to the Great Hall, which is adorned by large rugs hanging on the walls and a grand fireplace that let you imagine life in the times of yesteryear, and this is where Laura and Phil exchanged their vows.
Then off to their marquee they went and after some very funny speeches, the pimms and champagne was cracked open, the lawn games came out and the party really started.
After some well deserved time to chat and have a couple of drinks with their guests, I couldn’t resist to steal Laura and Phil away for some more shots just before sunset. The sky and sun were just beautiful and I just love the tenderness between these two.
The day passed by all too quickly and soon it was time to throw the bouquet (just check out that competition!), cut the cake (and what a beautiful cake it was), take to the dancefloor and party into the wee hours of the morning.
I really loved being part of this Birtsmorton Court Navy Blue Wedding and cannot wait to shoot at Birtsmorton Court again. It is truly a creative wedding photographer’s dream place.
